As per 1 April 2025 a visa is needed for most Western European, Canadian, American, Australian, New Zealander and most South American nationals and this can be obtained either on arrival at most land borders and the airport or online.
The visa costs NAD$1600 ( around U$90) and can be paid by credit or debit card. This is a multiple entry visa and valid for 30 days from the date you enter as arrival date. Before applying, please make sure you have been in touch with the office to confirm your correct arrival date.
Online applications can be done through this link: https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na. It is recommended to do the online application if possible to save time at the border. Approval should be instantly after payment has been made. You will need to apply for "Visa on Arrival".
Make sure you download and print the visa.
Your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months still and needs to have at least 3 blank pages. You might also be asked to present proof of a medical/travel insurance.
Note that you will need to upload a selfie (jpeg or png and max 300 kb) and a copy of your passport ( PDF only max 2 MB). They also ask for a flight ticket copy.
For the amount of money you will have on arrival you can put N$10,000.
For arrival choose road and no to onward or return flight ticket. The arrival border from Botswana is Mohembo and the departure border into South Africa is Noordoewer/Vioolsdrift.
For the overnight stay you can put Rainbow Camp, Divundu. The first night stay is enough, no need to fill in every campsite.
Some nationalities need to obtain a visa beforehand through an embassy, check with us if you are unsure.
NOTE: A visa through an embassy can only be obtained through the embassy that serves your country of official residence. It is not possible to obtain this visa at another embassy for example if you are travelling.
