The costs to consider when travelling overland are:

PROJECT COST EXCLUDES: > All items of a personal nature, such as curios, gifts, clothing (work and other), snacks and alcoholic beverages > Flights to Windhoek International Airport > Use of the internet during your placement (available on a Sunday only if you visit the town) > Any excursions over and above your planned itinerary in Namibia e.g., a visit to Swakopmund > Personal insurance cover for the duration of your placement, which must include cover for evacuation and repatriation

Your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 - 9 months after your trip finishes. Ensure as well you have adequate pages in your passport for each country you visit. Up to 2 consecutive blank pages can be required. If you have dual nationality you can only use one passport for the entire trip, whilst bringing both is wise as a back up. More information can be found in the different country listings on the FCO website under entry requirements.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has advised us that work visas are necessary for volunteer placements in Namibia and need to be arranged in advance. This is a requirement for all volunteers who are non-Namibians.

Once you confirm your booking with us, you will receive the visa application form, along with clear instructions as to what to fill out and provide with your visa application.

We advise using a Visa agency in Windhoek to process your application as other than the UK and Germany, many of the Namibian Embassies in other countries may not issue the correct visa. The cost for your work visa is N$ 892
Do note that you will need to get a certified copy of your passport to be able to obtain the visa.
